SHINSUKE IKEUCHI

SHINSUKE IKEUCHI

Japan | B.1984

Self-taught engraver Shinsuke Ikeuchi works across mediums and oscillates between the boundaries of two-dimensional and three-dimensional presentation.

His projects aim to expand the possibilities of traditional artistic expression. He uses metal engraving techniques combined with organic and inorganic materials to capture what he describes as "the fundamental energy of life," one that retains the three-dimensionality and fluidity of metal.

Shinsuke was born in Fukuoka, Japan in 1984. He is the winner of multiple awards, including the Excellence Award at the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and the Fukuoka Governor's Award at The National Art Center Tokyo, to name but a few. The artist currently lives and works in Tokyo.
