Erkut Terliksiz’s playful painterly approach to capturing the reality of the human condition shines a positive light onto otherwise somber subject matters of fragility, passage of time and mortality. Amalgamations of the human psychology and physical anatomy are manifested into ever evolving representations of peculiar characters living in fantastical universes.
Terliksiz was born in 1978, Adana, Turkey. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Design, Fine Arts Faculty at the Mimar Sinan University in 2002. Since then, the artist has exhibited internationally with selected solo shows including Painters Alive at Rademakers Gallery, Amsterdam (2018); DingDongDaddy at PlanX, Milan (2021); Double solo at Galerie C.O.A, Móntreal (2022); and Languishing at Dida, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (2022). In 2022, his work was shown in the group exhibition Needles in the hay at The Curators Room, Amsterdam. Terliksiz’s work has been featured in numerous publications, such as Juxtapoz and Booooooom.
