Nina’s paintings resemble visual poetry, where personal history, and universal symbols of femininity and renewal intertwine. Her works reflect the warmth and care passed down from generation to generation, rooted in the experience of growing up surrounded by women . A quiet witness to the spaces they inhabit, he paintings are quietly charged with emotional tension. Rendered in tapestry like textures, Nina’s surfaces evoke warmth and reflection. Leaving space for interpretation, the artist transforms each painting into a mirror held still for the unspoken thoughts of objects that may know more than they reveal.
“The women in my family showed me what care and true love are. And the safe place where it was all held was our country house, the dacha. As a child, it was my refuge. Everything I create begins there, in that quiet, sacred place I will never return to. My mother, my grandmother. The presence of my great-grandmother shaped everything, like gravity in a small room. Their voices still fill the air today. In every glance, in every gesture… there was care. There was warmth. In each painting, I try to capture its essence… to hold on to what exists only in memory. No one ever told me about love and strength. They didn’t need to. They were love and strength. Every thread, every brushstroke ,it is them. Still with me. Still holding me”
