JPS Gallery is delighted to present Shinsuke Ikeuchi’s solo exhibition “Color” at the Tsutaya Bookstore in GINZA SIX. Ikeuchi is a self-taught engraver who works across mediums and oscillates between the boundaries of two-dimensional and three-dimensional presentation.
We are usually surrounded by a variety of colors in our daily lives, and almost unconsciously, we recognize colors through our senses and perceptions. It is believed that color information obtained through vision is not merely recognized by the mind, but is also understood by already existing knowledge and the five human senses.
Each color has a different meaning depending on the knowledge, experience, thought, and mood in an individual’s consciousness, and the worldview that color gives off is very freeing. The exhibition titled “Color” is composed of colorful works based on the concept of “Color” as an element that can express one’s own life story and emotions. Ikeuchi hopes that through this exhibition, you will feel the power and allure of color.
