JPS Gallery Tokyo proudly presents "Origin, Point of Sound", an immersive solo exhibition by visual artist Hiroko Tokunaga. At the heart of Hiroko's mesmerising practice lies a profound meditation on accumulation and perception. She views reality as a layered construct—just as countless microscopic particles must gather to forge a tangible form, our individual memories and perspectives must overlap to shape the landscapes we observe. Her intricate works elegantly articulate a poignant human truth: we may share the very same space and time, yet the worlds we individually perceive are distinctly our own.
Elevating the gallery's spatial dynamics, "Origin, Point of Sound" is anchored by a monumental projection-mapping video installation. Realised through a dynamic collaboration with esteemed video artist Yuusuke Fujikawa and Masaaki Enatsu—a renowned musician, DJ, engineer, and producer at marimo RECORDS—this immersive masterwork envelops the audience in a brilliant auditory and visual manifestation of Tokunaga's wavering, particle-driven universe.
"Origin, Point of Sound" is an invitation to stand within the mist of our own making. It asks us to pause and consider the quiet, invisible forces that shape the reality we so often take for granted. JPS Gallery Tokyo warmly welcomes visitors to step into Hiroko Tokunaga's mesmerising topography—a space where the boundaries between the physical world and our perceived illusions beautifully and inevitably dissolve.
