Five years ago, I started skateboarding. Why skateboarding? Perhaps I knew that I didn’t have time to hesitate anymore.
In the past, I drank soda crazily, but now I drink water instead. I had stripped to my waist in the old hot summer days, but now I cannot live a day without air-conditioning. I was proud to have walked a long distance home, but now I often take a taxi.
Why skateboarding? Perhaps from the bottom of my heart, I know I will get old. By then, I would feel embarrassed when entering the skateparks; scare of losing my dignity when falling in front of the youngsters; forget I was once a frivolous youth who dared to challenge.
I am at the Best Before point of time in life, neither a youth nor a grownup. My artworks recorded the young people inside of me. I imagine if I meet them again in the future, I will laugh at their naivety or maybe, they will tease me for my dullness.
