I often think these days how difficult it is to cherish the present. I'm going back and forth between the past and the future at this very moment, learning from past experiences and thinking about what we need to do to have a better tomorrow. Where is the 'now' in the first place? For me, it is when I am painting that I can feel the 'now', which has no reality and cannot be grasped. Painting is the proof that I am living in the present, and it deepens the ambiguous existence that is me. It is the most important thing for me today to paint as I feel like it, not as a summary of the past or a guidepost for tomorrow. In this exhibition, there is no uniformity in the pattern or theme of the paintings, but I have written about myself one by one, as if I were writing a diary.
